We are proud to present “Future Folk”, a two-part group exhibition in Brooklyn featuring bold geometric arrangements in painting, collage, and installation from over twenty artists.

The work presented is both raw and controlled; herein lies the handmade, the felt mark, the human element.  Some work is meandering and loose; others more aggressively designed and precise.  All artists are investigating a central figure or object – a totem, so to speak.  Grand gestures and minute details are combined with a computer and Photoshop-driven mentality to build these totems.  The artists are joined by their common sensibility and an authentic love of their subjects bordering on nostalgia.  It is almost as if each artist had dreamed them into reality thereby creating an imaginary and invented cultural identity.
